He had a sign with my name and escorted us to a van he used to take us to the two stops. At first, the experience was a little intimidating with so many locals trying to shout to get our attention. Once in the van, Randy proceeded to give us all kinds of information about Belize, and he answered all of our questions about the country, its people, the economy, and the wildlife. We did have to stop a couple of times to get gas, and he also stopped for us, so we could get snacks and drinks for the kids. The drive to the cave tubing site was long--about an hour and 15 minutes, and the drive was on roads that were poorly maintained and essentially one-lane for two lanes of traffic, but we all ultimately felt that was part of the authentic experience. We saw other groups from the ship that were huge. For us, it was just our group of 7 and Randy. We were first on the jungle walk to the cave tubing start, and we were first in the river, so we were able to enjoy the river and natural sites of the jungle without tons of extra people. It was awesome! Randy was so knowledgeable about the plants and animals of the jungle. We had three young boys, ages 6, 8, and 10, and Randy patiently answered all of their questions about pythons and jaguars and such. He even pointed out a mound of termites and ate some, and my husband did too! It was really cool. The caves and surrounding jungle are absolutely gorgeous and unlike anything I have ever experienced.
After the cave tubing, we had another hour ride to the Altun Ha ruins where Randy continued to fill us in on the history of the discovery and some Mayan practices. While Randy was knowledgeable and answered questions, he was never overly talkative and even let some of us nap in the van on the long rides between sites, which was nice. After the ruins tour, we had another hour ride back to the port terminal. We were back in plenty of time to catch the tender back to the ship. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone. We paid a much more reasonable price in comparison to others doing the same combination on the boat.tag:belizecitytours.bravesites.com,2019-02-15:/entries/1863613#comment_320394Comment by Tyrone 2019-02-15T08:41:03-08:002019-02-15T08:41:03-08:00We had a large group of 24 people who came to Belize on a cruise ship. We wanted a group excursion. Age group ranged from 11 to 77. We decided to do the cave tubing and zip lining, along with lunch. Cost per person was $80 (which included lunch). Marco was excellent. I think the hardest thing about dealing with our group was to keep us on time. With 24 people running around, getting changed, looking at souvenirs, etc., we needed someone to keep us on task and Marco was excellent. The cave tubing was phenomenal. The cruise excursion group only got to do half the cave and then had to get out. We tubed the entire cave plus part of the river. The walk in was about 30 minutes, but the walk out was very short. We had several people in their 70s do the cave tubing, but the older folks decided not to do the zip lining and hung out at the restaurant and had some drinks while the rest of us zip lined. The zip line was awesome! Young and old loved it. We are thankful to Marco for giving us a great experience and we would do it again if we are ever in Belize again.

We arrived on Carnival Magic and met Donald around 9am. There were a total of 7 of us, 4 adults and 3 kids and we all fit in Donald' mini van. We stopped on the way out of Belize City to grab snacks and drinks on our way to the Mayan Ruins. Donald was great about explaining the history of Belize and the overall culture. It took about 45 min to drive to Altun Ha Ruins. We spend about an hour there, hiking the ruins and learning about the site. We grabbed lunch and beers at the ruins before heading off to see the monkeys, which was another 45 minute drive.
The monkey tour was quick only about 30-40 min, but my kids loved it. They actually had a wild howler monkey come down out of a tree and eat a banana out of their hands. Overall my family had a great time, even with Donald's indy car driving from tour to tour.tag:belizecitytours.bravesites.com,2019-02-15:/entries/1863613#comment_320396Comment by D.J.2019-02-15T08:48:15-08:002019-02-15T08:48:15-08:00Just return back home from a fantastic vacation in Belize. We arrive around 6:15 am on Delta airline and were picked up by Donald for a tour of cave tubing, zip line, and xunantunich mayan ruins. After we loaded our luggage to the van, Donald drove us to a restaurant for breakfast. Breakfast was local fried red beans with freshly cooked chicken accompanied with some tasty fry jacks. Wow!! This was a great breakfast. After breakfast we boarded the van and off we went. It was a 2 hours drive to the ruins. We slept all the way to the ruins after a long and tiring night. When we arrive at the crossing ferry, Donald woke us up to exit the van. We are not allowed to cross the ferry in the van for safety reasons, explained Donald.
After the ferry we drove about 5 minutes to the ruins, took a restroom break and started the tour of the ruins. The buildings were huge and the tour of the site was more like a classroom style tour. Donald was very informative and patient with the kids. We didn’t climb the temple because it was raining a bit and the stairs were very slippery. We didn’t miss climbing the ruins since we were well entertained by Donald’s informative presentations.
Now we drove about an hour to the zip line. This was the most fun part of the tour. Going from one tree to another in high speed was the most amazing experience I had in my life. We also zip lined across the river and walk a short distance on a hammock bridge. The is a full tour of fun.
After the zip line we had lunch and drive a few minutes to the cave. We were introduced to Albert, one of Donald’s colleague who is to guide through the caves. We were issued with headlamps, life vest, and a inner tube. We hiked through the rain forest to the entrance of the cave. Albert told us about the cave systems and a lot about medicinal plants. The cave tubing part of the tour was fun too. The water was refreshing. Albert towed us as we relaxed and enjoyed the views of the different formations in the caves. After the tour we drove to Belize City to board the water taxi to Ambergris Caye. This is indeed a fun tour and am recommending it to you.tag:belizecitytours.bravesites.com,2021-12-27:/entries/1863613#comment_357567Comment by Alrick2021-12-27T12:11:36-08:002021-12-27T12:11:36-08:00Ours Belize City cave tubing and zipline was a fantastic tour.
